We currently use a DJI Phantom 4 Professional alongside a DJI Mavic Pro. Depending on the job will depend on what drone we need or if we need both. We supplement our drone shoots with a Nikon D5200 DSLR that compliments our aerial footage. So we’re old school and new school, and we love it that way.
Each shoot is unique, so it’s hard to say exactly how long it will take to complete your project. On average though, we’re on site for about 2 hours. Each Phantom 4 Pro battery lasts about 25 minutes, and each Mavic battery lasts about 20 minutes, so we bring multiple batteries to each site to ensure we get the job done with ample amount of time. We want to make sure we get the best possible videos and images so we take our time to make it perfect.
Yes. We are FAA Part 107 Certified drone pilots. This ensures that we follow the appropriate precautions when operating our drone.
Not always. Depending on the task at hand, we will come equipped with both our Phantom 4 Pro and our Nikon D5200. We absolutely love using our drone, but we understand that sometimes we’ll want to use a standard camera as well.
Since the commercial use of sUAS (small unmanned aircraft systems) is still fairly new, the rules are always changing, which is why we decided to become certified pilots so we could understand exactly what is deemed a safe area to fly and what areas have specific regulations.
If we are going to be operating in areas that are regulated by the FAA we need to take extra steps to ensure all safety measures are met, but that doesn’t necessarily mean we can’t fly, it just means we need to work out the fine details with the appropriate governing bodies and take it from there.
Each assignment is unique. We have a special formula to determine just exactly what the cost of each project will be, and we even have add-on options that can change the cost of the project.
Shoot us an email to start the conversation so we can get you a custom quote.
The deposit for every contract is 50% of the project. Your deposit ensures that your specified date is set in the books, and the deposit is non-refundable.
Once the final payment is made, and we leave the site of the shoot, we’ll need to organize, master, and fine-tune the footage to ensure the most engaging, highest quality images and video. We guarantee to have your files no later than one month of the date of the shoot.
We deliver the raw footage to you via DropBox. You will have 6 months to retrieve your files from DropBox before the folder is removed from the HWL Creative instance. It is your responsibility to retrieve your files and put them somewhere safe.
The balance due can be paid in a variety of ways. HWL Creative accepts:
- Major Credit Cards
If paying by Check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express, the final payment is due the week before your shoot, while all other payments can be made up until the day before the event. Paying by major credit card will require an additonal 2% convenience charge.
If the final payment is not made by either of the times depending upon your payment method, HWL Creative will accept that you have cancelled your shoot. We will do our best to ensure this doesn’t happen! We send friendly reminders just to make sure you don’t forget.
HWL Creative is stationed right above the Maryland line in South Centeral Pennsylvania. We are conveniently located in a place that allows us to serve major cities in both Pennsylvania and Maryland. HWL Creative is no stranger to travel either, in fact we love it! So don’t let a location stop you from reaching out, we’re happy to hop on a bus, a train, a plane or drive wherever it is you need us to be.
Being outside with a drone means that we rely heavily on mother nature, and unfortunately we haven’t mastered how to keep her on our side all the time.
Things that affect drone performance are:
- Extreme Temperatures (Hot or Cold)
We’ll keep a close eye on the weather reports leading up to your shooting, but just in case we may be impacted by the weather we’ll want a back-up plan. Sometimes this could be the next day, or even later in the day and other times it could be a few days or weeks later, it’s entirely up to you and your schedule (and of course the weather!).
